This years family camp was a great success, thank you to the ca 40 people who attended and made it a very nice weekend.
The weekend kicked off with setting up camp on Friday night, it was hard work so thank you to the parents who were there to help. Saturday morning started with a full english and then a day of activities , including rounders, football, tug of war, maze, assault course and archery. All activities went smoothly with no major injuries, and not only the young people seemed to enjoy the assault course 🙂
The day was also filled with more traditional scout activities, mainly surrounding getting wood, chopping wood and burning wood – all of which proved very popular both amongst adults and young people.
In the evening we had our AGM, which went very well. We hopefully have some more volunteers as a result, and thank you to the committee members who drove out especially to attend.
Sunday saw even more activities such as climbing and initiative exercises and then we packed up to go home. By this point we were all fairly tired but thanks to the parents, the marquee and kit was packed away really fast.
Thank you all for a very nice weekend, we hope to make this an annual event and hope to see you all again next year!
