Family Camp 2015

This years family camp was a great success, thank you to the ca 40 people who attended and made it a very nice weekend.

The weekend kicked off with setting up camp on Friday night, it was hard work so thank you to the parents who were there to help. Saturday morning started with a full english and then a day of activities , including rounders, football, tug of war, maze, assault course and archery. All activities went smoothly with no major injuries, and not only the young people seemed to enjoy the assault course 🙂

The day was also filled with more traditional scout activities, mainly surrounding getting wood, chopping wood and burning wood – all of which proved very popular both amongst adults and young people.

In the evening we had our AGM, which went very well. We hopefully have some more volunteers as a result, and thank you to the committee members who drove out especially to attend.

Sunday saw even more activities such as climbing and initiative exercises and then we packed up to go home. By this point we were all fairly tired but thanks to the parents, the marquee and kit was packed away really fast.

Thank you all for a very nice weekend, we hope to make this an annual event and hope to see you all again next year!

If you were there, please take a moment to complete our online feedback form found here.

Bingo Night: A Great Success

Hi Parents and Scouts!

We have completed another fantastic fundraising evening at the scout hut seeing ÂŁ300 being raised towards the group all thanks to Fran, our fundraiser. This money will go towards new equipment and the general upkeep of the group and Frans efforts have become one of the important pillars of income to our group, especially as her employer has in the past been able to match our takings, and hopefully this will also be the case now.

These events are also a chance for parents and young people to socialise and have a great evening, and the feedback has been brilliant. We could not hold these events without the support of parents so thank you all who attended, helped to set up and donated.

Thank you to everybody who made it such an enjoyable night, we hope to see you all at the next event again.

Bingo!

Dont miss the chance to come to our latest fundraiser!

By popular demand we are doing Bingo again as our next fundraiser thanks to Fran, our excellent Fundraising Chieftain. On the night there will be a Bar, Tuck-shop, Jacket potatoes with chilli, Great prizes, a chance to socialise with other members of the group and of course BINGO! What more could you want?

Tickets for the night are on sale and selling fast and they include food and bingo. You are welcome to bring siblings, grandparents and anyone else who enjoys a good game of Bingo! The only thing we want to say is that during this night you are in charge of your young people, we are taking the night off 🙂
