We are pleased to report that all the scouts made it!
Along the way they built their own bivouacs, foraged for wild food, learned some emergency aid and cooked on an open fire without any pans or utensils.
They learned how to signal for help using mirrors and smoke, how to find direction without using a compass and discussed what to do if they ever find themselves in a survival situation. We also had Mark, a member of the TA, come down and show us some tricks of the trade. The camoflage face paint was particularly popular.
All the scouts seemed to enjoy the weekend and some even managed a few hours sleep in their shelter! (even if it was in the afternoon)
Photos from the weekend are now on the group flickr account.
