Cub weekend in London

Ten Cubs, accompanied by Akela, Hathi and Baloo, travelled into London for a weekend of varied activities. Saturday was spent at The Natural History Museum and London Transport Museum with an unscheduled stop off to watch, and in some cases participate in, the street entertainment at Covent Garden.

We then travelled by Tube to the mysterious north (Bounds Green) for an overnight stay at Scout Park Camp Site. The Cubs enjoyed a meal, cooked by Nigel, and their own private cinema showing feature length cartoons. We also played an exciting wide game outside in the dark until the leaders became too cold to carry on, I’m sure the Cubs would have carried on until midnight!

The indoor accomodation was very luxurious (by scouting standards), real beds and heating in the bedrooms!

The next morning the Cubs enjoyed archery and climbing and a lengthy visit to the providore! After lunch we made our way home by Tube and train.
